Wealthy, excessively red, drapés curtains and spreads of gold make Rene Caovilla's store in his hometown the ultimate theatre for any shoes.
As a shoe designer for Valentino in the 1970's and for Christian Dior in the 1980's, he's nowadays one of the few designer whose creations still reflect a real, not overplayed nor high-hatted, élégance.
He actually is more working as a sculptor than a designer, and each shoe is cautiously worked and every single detail is thoughtfully pondered.
Even though Caovilla studied in London and Paris, his work reflects more than anything else this very peculiar kind of charm and grandeur of this open air theater that is the city of Venice.
And I had to show you this bride. She was so beautiful and graceful.
