I'm just coming back from London, which is my prefered city in Europe because you can still catch some bit and bobs of the Swinging London era; moreover everyone is extremely stylish in this city, each people in their very own way manage to look good, even sometimes graceful and not ridiculous -- even if the idea at the beginning could seem unlikely. Somehow, dressing up is the very first sign of respect someone can show to another people. And no matter which way you demonstrate it, people in London enjoy the fact you took care of your appearance -- not always the case here in France where you're often mocked and/or envied -- which makes you go further and better in your look.
And what I personnaly like, and try to cultivate, is androgyny.
To my mind it's one of the few quality which makes a boy or a girl distinguished, graceful and alluring; in a very airy and nonchalant way. It's, in a way, the beauty of an entirety.
And this style is perfectly reflected by the Swinging London model Twiggy, at the moment one of my style icon.
The designers whose garments have very blurry lines, but whose clothes are sharp enough at the same time, are some of the most fascinating nowadays.
Thinking of a Rick Owens coat, Rad Hourani shoes, a Damir Doma bag or jacket, an Helmut Lang tee, the word that comes me first is delicate.
I think this style is complementary to every other designs, very girlish for a woman or Gentleman for a man... And I guess that's why designers such as Alber Elbaz at Lanvin succeed as well in making people dream when they show girly pinky dresses!
